We all want to love and be loved, right?
So, why is it that living loving relationships seems to be so difficult?
What causes tension and mistrust and why do we so often end up living “out of love” with the “wrong” romantic partner?
Well, I have a couple of ideas I’d like to share with you and the first one is this:
Your first and most important relationship is with yourself; it is the relationship upon which all others are based.
You’re probably saying, yes I know that but…
So, take a moment and ask yourself how you really feel about yourself?
How capable of giving and receiving love do you feel?
How have you experienced giving and receiving love in the past?
What are you thinking and saying about yourself on a daily basis?
How much do you appreciate yourself?
How much do you love yourself…?
The thing is, you can only give to others what you first have yourself. So, connect with yourself, discover who you are, uncover what you really think and feel… then, accept and appreciate yourself for who you are and others will accept and appreciate you for who you are too.
The second idea I’d like to share is this:
You will attract back to you whatever you send out.
Some of the most frequent complaints I hear regarding relationships are “He never listens” or “She’s always going on at me” or “I don’t feel respected or appreciated” or “We never seem to have time together any more”.
So, if you don’t feel listened to, ask yourself how often you really listen to your partner…
If you feel “nagged”, ask yourself how you might also be nagging your partner…
If you feel disrespected or unappreciated, ask yourself where in the relationship you too are showing disrespect or a lack of appreciation…
If you never seem to have time together any more, rather than blame and complain, each take 100% responsibility for making time.
Love is the key to everything in life. So, let go of the past, forgive yourself and others, love who you are and allow love to find you!
I would love to hear from you so please feel free to share who you are and your experiences in the comments. I’ll be sure to reply!
